As a new creation with a new spirit and heart, I prayed:
Lord, I do not want to live without purpose.
Wherever You lead, I will follow.
Do Your will through me.
He answered, “I will give you a family. I will do My will through you there.”
I obeyed without delay, for how could I turn away from the call of God? He gave me a soul renewed, fresh, pure, and joyful. It was a gift meant only for me.
In January 2025, I began going to church to pray earnestly. Not for a blessing, but for a purpose. I wanted to serve God, let Him take control, and lead me to His promised land. I knew I needed to be faithful to Him and was ready to do whatever it would take. Week after week I prayed and meditated, asking God to guide me.
I decided to dedicate my life fully to the Lord and prepared for baptism. I reached out to a school friend whose family was strong in the faith, so they could guide me through the process. The date was set. I was baptised, and Arthy became Abigail.
The very next day, in church once again, I prayed: “Lord, I am ready to do whatever You tell me. I will follow You.” That day’s message was His answer…
And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, captured it.
And he gave him Achsah his daughter as wife.—Joshua 15:17
Though I did not yet understand it, that night my spiritual guide came to me and said, “If you are willing to follow the Lord and heed His ways, He has a gift for you.”
A gift I never knew I needed.
One that I never knew existed until the moment it was given to me.
That gift was my Patrick Ambrose.
Everything unfolded quickly and miraculously. God guided us, our families met, and the decision to marry was made. We became engaged.
It turns out Ambrose is my promised land.
When the world grew dark, he reflected the Lord’s light.
When life felt like thorns, he protected and covered me.
When everything was dry, he became nourishment.
When I could not love myself, he mirrored God’s love back to me.
When everything seemed like distant stars, he was my moon.
When everything was dull, he became my sunshine.
When I felt without purpose, he pointed me to God’s purpose.
When my life faced drought, he brought joy.
When I was lost without hope, he helped me step toward the promised land.
He is God’s promise to me. He is not merely a promise but a covenant. Through him, the Lord restored what was lost, not just doubled but multiplied beyond measure.
Yes, it is him, my Patrick Ambrose. My life’s truest love. The greatest gift from my Lord.
What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.
—Mark 10:9
Now and forever, we will serve Him. His grace, immeasurable and unshakable, chose us when we were unworthy and qualified us when we were nothing. No one can match God’s love. We will worship Him forever and ever, until eternity meets eternity.
All of us walk through many seasons in life: happiness, sadness, loss, confusion, and worry. Sometimes we cry out, “Why is this happening to me?” Even when life feels against you, God is not. His love is constant and unwavering. You are not alone, for He is always by your side.
Life with God is not complicated. Our task is simple: trust Him and let Him take control. He will guide you, and you can be still and know that He is God.
Our life, Arthy and Ambrose, is a living example before your eyes. This is what happens when you trust Him completely and give Him full control. Though I ran away and turned aside, He never left me or loved me less. He is beyond good and truly amazing. No one can love like He does.
We are blessed to have known the goodness of our Lord, and I thank Him for the opportunity to share His love with you. You are chosen too. He is waiting for you. Trust Him, give Him the control, and you will see His loving grace in your life.
